Pre-shipment inspection is widely used by private-sector buyers; its function is to ensure that the quantity and quality of the goods to be traded conform to the specifications of the sales contract. Upon the completion of the product, quantity and quality inspections are performed at the supplier factory by independent quality assurance companies.
